Swift’s ticket sales also surpassed Coldplay’s previous record.

Taylor Swift has set the record for the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. The US singer toured the globe for 21 months as part of her “Eras” concert series.

Ticket sales worth 1.9 billion euros

The 34-year-old showed what she can do in 149 appearances. With the “Eras” tour, Swift sold tickets worth 2,077,618,725 US dollars (almost 1.9 billion euros). These numbers come from the production company Taylor Swift Touring, as reported by the New York Times.

Swift surpasses Coldplay’s tour revenue

The “Fortnight” interpreter not only set a new record, but also broke Coldplay’s. As “Billboard” reported at the end of August 2024, the band became the first rock group in history to earn more than a billion US dollars with their “Music of the Spheres” world tour. However, the team’s journey around singer Chris Martin began in March 2022 – and is scheduled to continue in 2025. In conclusion, Swift made twice as much money with fewer performances and within a smaller time frame – her tour began on March 17, 2023 in Arizona.

Were “Eras” tour tickets more expensive than other concert tickets?

According to the trade magazine “Pollstar”, a total of 10,168,000 people came to the concerts. The magazine calculated a value of 204 US dollars (194 euros) per concert ticket. From this, they concluded that the price of the “Era” tickets was well above the industry average of $131 (124 euros) for the 100 biggest tours worldwide in 2023. By the way, most of the spectators gathered in Melbourne, Australia, on February 16, 2024. Here more than 96 thousand people watched Swift’s live performance.

However, the pop musician didn’t just keep the high income for herself. Her crew members also received bonuses of around 187 million euros during the two-year tour.
