Milan is about to change sporting director. Antonio D’Ottavio, the sporting director appointed in the summer of 2023, no longer works for the club. A new director will be appointed shortly, with an internal solution.

D’Ottavio had been at Milan since 2016, first as a scout in the Mirabelli era, more recently as a manager: in the summer of 2023 he joined Furlani and Moncada for the transfer market, in 2024-25 he was responsible for building the Milan Futuro squad together with Jovan Kirovski. The bad relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kirovski marked his last months at Milan, to the point that, in recent weeks, D’Ottavio did not even access Milanello, where the Under 23 team trains.

The appointment of the new sporting director will not change the substance of the technical decisions. Ibrahimovic, Furlani and Moncada will continue to make strategic decisions for the first team, while Kirovski will be the reference manager for Milan Futuro.
