Günther: Söder’s rejection of Black-Green “not helpful”

Schleswig-Holstein’s Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) has criticized Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) for saying that he is ruling out cooperation with the Greens. “I don’t think it’s helpful – we already noticed in 2021 that it’s not smart if there’s always disruptive fire coming from Bavaria,” said Günther on Sunday evening on the ARD program “Report from Berlin”. He also warned against running a coalition election campaign. With regard to his black-green state government in Kiel, he said that it worked “very, very well” together and that it was really a trusting collaboration. His government is proving that even two parties that are very different in their content can still work well together if the people involved trust each other.
