“I’m Just Ken” is one of the most successful film songs of the year even without an award – and this success was also recognized at the 2024 Oscars with a spectacular live performance by Ryan Gosling.

The meticulously planned performance began in the seat behind Margot Robbie and was reminiscent of Ken’s musical performance in the film “Barbie” – it had already been reported in advance that the performance had been excessively rehearsed. Because alongside a large number of dancers (including the supporting actor Ken from “Barbie”), the small gestures and movements also had to be right. The clinking of a glass, with which Gosling immediately afterwards suggests a stab in the stomach, the grabbing of the cameraman’s “male hand”, lifting figures – all of this had to be done to the second so that the camera could capture the spectacle for the viewers at home could really capture.

Oscars 2024: Billie Eilish’s “Barbie” song can prevail
Shortly after the performance, Billie Eilish and brother Finneas also won the Oscar for “Best Original Song” for “What Was I Made For”. This makes the singer the first female artist to receive an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe for a song twice in her career.
Eilish was speechless, almost burst into tears, but then ended with euphoric laughter. It is the siblings’ second Oscar – they already received the award for the Bond song “No Time to Die”.
