Formula 1 | Final turning point? Horner is reportedly facing expulsion

It could be the final turning point in the ever-increasing scandal surrounding Red Bull team boss Christian Horner: According to a media report, the 50-year-old is now on the verge of leaving the best Formula 1 racing team of the moment.

On Sunday, the “F1 Insider” portal reported that the Thai majority shareholder was considering voting to replace the scandal-plagued Brit, who once again demonstratively appeared with his wife Geri Horner in front of all the cameras at the last race weekend in Saudi Arabia presented to the world public.

According to information from the motorsport portal, the Thai entrepreneurial family around Chalerm Yoovidhya now wants to follow the recommendation of Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, who had previously spoken internally in favor of separating from Christian Horner.

At the weekend, the big bang for the Austrian-British racing team was initially averted. Both long-time team boss Horner and Red Bull Motorsport boss Helmut Marko should remain in office and be allowed to fulfill their multi-year contracts with the world constructors’ champion.

Horner no longer Red Bull team boss in Melbourne?

The reasons for the alleged rethinking of the Red Bull majority shareholders are said to be complex. The brand is said to have suffered serious damage to its image since the Christian Horner affair, and influential women’s rights activists, especially in the USA, recently called for a boycott.

There is also concern among management that the allegations about Horner’s allegedly inappropriate behavior towards a Red Bull employee will escalate into more of a mud fight than already.

It is already assumed in the English media that the employee will soon turn to the public and fight for her reputation, following further internal investigations into the matter.

As “F1 Insider” claims to have learned from “well-informed sources”, Christian Horner will no longer be at the Red Bull Racing command post at the next race weekend in Melbourne, Australia. These recent media reports have not yet been confirmed.
