A reader from indebuur emailed the editors asking what kind of work is being done in the Prinses Ariane Park in the Driemanspolder district. In the meantime, it is clear that a small exercise park has been built so that Zoetermeer residents can exercise in the open air for free. But what else happens in the park?

Replacing trees

There were a number of diseased trees opposite the Ruwaardpad. That’s why they were cut down. In its place, the municipality has planted the same number of trees. These include ash, lime, hawthorn and maple. With this diversity of trees, the municipality wants to prevent possible diseases. In addition, the new trees have been placed further apart, so that they have more space to grow well. In addition to the replanting, the municipality is also working on pruning the existing trees and other greenery.

Boot camp in the park

A small exercise park has also been built on the Ruwaardspad. This place is part of the exercise tour in the neighborhood. Here you can use the sports equipment for free and work on your health at your own pace. The so-called sports hub is also suitable for boot camp clubs. Thanks to a back stretcher, the sports hub can also be used by disabled people, the municipality said.
