Juuse Saros has drastically raised his level and his team’s money for the playoffs.
Nashville picked up their eighth straight win when they beat Colorado 5-1 last night. Thanks to the winning streak, the pack is firmly in the last playoff spots in the West.
One of the heroes of the home team was again Juuse Saros, who was chosen as the three star of the game. The Finn, who saved his sixth consecutive win, grabbed 25 pucks in the match and served Thomas Novak too 4–1 goal.
Saros played for a long time the weakest season of his career in the light of statistics, but lately the gentleman has returned to his top level. The save percentage in the previous six games is a deafening 95.6 and the average goals conceded is 1.33.
Last night, Saros only managed to surprise Nathan MacKinnon. The superstar had another top spot, but the Finn didn’t give up for the second time.
– It was an unfortunate bounce from the wing, and the puck was caught by one of the best players in the world (MacKinnon), if not the best, and he still blocked the puck. MacKinnon surprised him the first time, but I don’t think ‘Juice’ would have allowed that to happen again, Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette thanked according to the NHL’s website.
Against Colorado, however, Nashville’s biggest hero was Cody Glasswho scored the first hat trick of his NHL career in the match.
– It was unbelievable. I already said before (hat trick) that my teammates wanted it more than me. I didn’t want to put pressure on myself. I was just doing the same stuff I’ve been doing all along. However, they kept trying to find me, Glass praised.
– We have a great team. In the eight-match winning streak, everyone has pulled the same rope, Glass stated.
