Stengs had come on for Khéphren Thuram-Ulien in the 79th minute. Just before time he delivered the cross from the right which was headed in by Delort at the far post. Nice seemed to extend even further in stoppage time, as the referee pointed to the penalty after a foul on Jordan Lotomba. However, by order of the VAR, the home club was withheld the penalty.

The joy was no less at Nice, where Justin Kluivert and Pablo Rosario started in the base. The latter played the entire game. Kluivert was substituted just before the 1-0.

The suspended star player Kylian Mbappe was missing from Paris Saint-Germain. The attacker will be back on Wednesday when his team defends a 1-0 lead during the away game against Real Madrid in the eighth finals of the Champions League.

Georginio Wijnaldum was in the starting line-up. He was substituted in the last minute of official time. Xavi Simons stayed on the bench.

Despite the defeat, PSG continues to lead the French league comfortably. Nice moved up to second place, trailing 13 points. Olympique Marseille can come 12 points from the list leader during the home game with AS Monaco on Sunday.
