Beyoncé becomes the first Black woman to top the country charts

With “Texas Hold ‘Em” she is currently at the top of the “Billboard Hot Country Songs” list.

On February 12th, Beyoncé ushered in her country era with the two singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” and at the same time announced her new album ACT II. Just ten days later, she is already breaking records with the first song. She is the first black woman to lead the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts at. Her second track also performs well and comes in at number seven.

A new record for Queen B

Such success is no longer a big surprise for Beyoncé. In 2023, she officially became the artist with the most Grammy wins ever – she has already taken home a total of 32 awards. And with 25 awards, the 42-year-old is also the musician with the most MTV Video Music Awards.

“Billboard” announced that the track “Texas Hold ‘Em” had already recorded almost 20 million streams within the first three days, while “16 Carriages” had half that. It’s been over twenty years since Beyoncé first appeared in the charts – in 1997 with Destiny’s Child and in 2003 as a solo artist.

With her recent number one ranking, Beyoncé has officially topped seven different Billboard charts – “The Hot 100”, “Hot Country Songs”, “Hot Dance/Electronic Songs”, “Hot Gospel Songs”, “Hot Latin Songs”, “Hot R&B Songs” and also “Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs”.
