Chris Huizinga from Garnwerd will make his debut at the World Allround Championships this weekend.

The Groningen skater from Jumbo-Visma replaces his teammate Beau Snellink. Due to a positive corona test, he has to cancel at the World Cup in Hamar, Norway.

Biggest nightmare

“My worst nightmare has come true, I tested positive for the corona virus this morning,” says 20-year-old Snellink on the team’s website. ,,It’s really bummed that I can’t participate in my first World Allround World Cup, but I’m going to do everything I can to come back stronger.”

Bosker was still able to travel

Besides Huizinga, Patrick Roest and Marcel Bosker will start at the World Allround Championships. Rust is the defending champion. Bosker, with Groningen and Drenthe roots, tested positive for the corona virus at the beginning of the week, but was still able to travel to Norway after a negative test.
