Direct words from Sami Jauhojärvi about Anne Kyllöne – An explanation soon came

The North American tour of the Skiing World Cup continues on Saturday in Minneapolis, USA. Finnish women advanced from qualifying to the heats of freestyle skiing Jasmi Joensuu and Kerttu Niskanen.

The difference in qualifying was really big. Swedish Jonna Sundling was the fastest with a difference of 4.19 seconds to Jessie Diggins.

Joensuu was 20th in the qualifier and was 13.69 seconds behind the leader. Niskanen, who was two places lower, skied the qualification 14.17 seconds slower than Sundling.

Anne Kyllönen was more than 21 seconds behind the leader at a distance of 1.5 kilometers, and did not get a place in the heats. From the beginning of the week, Kyllönen was 15th in Canmore’s traditional sprint.

An explanation for Kyllönen’s performance was soon received. The skier said that the Finnish national team already had the flu at the Canmore World Cup.

– It reached me when we came here. There has been no fever. It’s come here, and it’s an expensive trip, so I wanted to try my best. My lungs are burning, a disappointed Kyllönen said in an interview with Viaplay.

Germany succeeded in qualifying, as no less than five women from the team advanced. Germany’s Katharina Hennig and the Norwegian hero Heidi Weng missed the qualification.

Men’s qualifying starts at 18:36. Finns are included Lauri Vuorinen, Joni Mäki, Niilo Moilanen, Perttu Hyvärinen and Remi Lindholm.
