Eddy Zoëy is quite disappointed in the level of Arjen Lubach’s late-night show. The presenter of RTL Boulevard thinks it is on the meager side. “It’s disappointing.”
Arjen Lubach’s viewing figures are fine, but his program has lost its urgency. There is a lot of Lubach on television these days and he never really catches up on the news of the day. Eddy Zoëy, who makes an equally successful program with RTL Bouleard, thinks that Arjen is a bit disappointing.
Eddy’s cup of tea
Eddy never watches talk shows with his girlfriend at home, he says in the VARA guide. “I find it very strange that we still have talk shows. If you look at countries like America and England, you see that they have entertainment: Jimmy Fallon, Graham Norton. But we all have tables with people who talk very seriously about the news.”
Bore, says the presenter. “How so? I just don’t get it. Today Inside is not necessarily my cup of teabut that is the only talk show that makes you laugh a little every now and then.”
‘Lubach disappoints’
And what about Arjen? That is the Dutch equivalent of the foreign late-night shows that Eddy likes to watch. Well, that’s not it either, he judges. “Lubach does try in a different way, but I think it often doesn’t reach the level of the American and English late-night shows.”
Finally, Eddy also complains about the fact that television is often about television. A bit where RTL Boulevard takes the cake, so to speak. “Television is too often about television. Just count how many times they talk about other TV shows.”
