According to the research, the city of Antwerp received €2,078 in subsidies per inhabitant in 2022, while West Flanders received an average of €685. Although Antwerp (530,630 inhabitants) has more than half as many inhabitants as West Flanders (1,209,011 inhabitants), the city still receives three times as many subsidies as our entire province.
