Sophie Hilbrand no longer needs Olcay Gulsen as a sidekick in her talk show Jeroen & Sophie now that she has sat at the table at Today Inside. “You’ve been cancelled.”
Olcay Gulsen was at the table last night on Today Inside, the most watched talk show in our country, but has to give up her gig as a sidekick in Jeroen & Sophie. Fortunately, Olcay’s VI performance was well received, so there is a good chance that she will have a new gig. Not at BNNVARA, but at SBS 6.
Studio hopping
The fuss between Olcay and the editors of Sophie & Jeroen is discussed when fellow VI guest Raymond Mens reveals that he was also invited by Op1 last night. “I said, ‘I don’t think it would be wise for me to go from one studio to another, so let’s not do that.’”
Op1 didn’t think it was a problem that he would be at VI immediately before that. “They didn’t think it was a problem.”
Olcay surprised
Olcay is surprised about that. “I think it’s strange, because I was canceled for Sophie & Jeroen. That’s where I would go. Then they said: ‘No, if you go to VI, you are not allowed anymore.’”
Wilfred Genee: “Are you cancelled?”
Olcay: “Well, not cancelled. They said, ‘If you go there… You have to choose.’ Why are you allowed to sit anywhere?”
Difference in quality
Raymond then jokes: “Yes, maybe a difference in quality.”
Olcay: “Expertise, hahahaha! Well, I’m dripping home again.”
At the end of the episode, Johan Derksen lets Olcay know that she can join VI more often. “We like to have a woman in our midst and I think you suit us very well.”
