Biathlon World Cup 2024 | Olympic champion reveals worries: “Not particularly happy”

Hanna Öberg was one of the big stars at the last Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof. This winter the Swede is still looking for her top form. Finally, she was also troubled by injury concerns. Not an easy situation, as the ski hunter herself admitted.

After the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz, Hanna Öberg underwent a knee examination at home. There was positive news for the 28-year-old: a serious injury could be ruled out. Instead, the knee in question was simply swollen, reports the Swedish newspaper “Expressen”.

Öberg suffered an unknown injury to his knee last fall. Nevertheless, the two-time Olympic champion was able to start the biathlon season as usual in November. During the pursuit in Ruhpolding at the beginning of the year, she felt her knee again for the first time after prone shooting, Öberg said at the time.

The latest investigation has brought relief to the Scandinavian woman. “It’s clear that you want everything to go well and without any problems when you approach a World Cup. So in that sense I wasn’t particularly happy,” Öberg revealed to the “Expressen” and added: “But now I think I, as I said, have made a positive development. And now I’m not worried.”
