Art Rooijakkers is not really in the right place at RTL 4, and certainly not at Expeditie Robinson, according to opinion diva Angela de Jong. “He has the appearance of a Nieuwsuur presenter.”
According to Angela de Jong, it is incomprehensible which turn Art Rooijakkers’ TV career has taken. The AD opinion diva believes that the presenter is completely out of place at RTL 4. She also thinks he is an absolute mismatch with Expeditie Robinson, which was previously presented by Dennis Weening.
Hawaiian shirt
Art is currently also on the channel with Praat Nederlands Met Me, but that is also not to the liking of the AD media editors. “I think this is TV from twenty years ago,” says journalist Marcus den Blanken in the AD Media podcast.
Angela then sneers: “Led by a presenter who has the appearance of Nieuwsuur on Saturday evening.”
Colleague Dennis Jansen: “No, but I completely understand that. I don’t just see him with Robinson either. I don’t see a Hawaiian shirt. That’s Dennis Weening. Art Rooijakkers is not a jungle, not a Robinson and not a quiz master.”
More journalistic
Angela thinks that Art does not feel at home at RTL 4. “The only program at RTL where I really felt he belonged was the one that no one watched. That ‘How are you now?’. Then he would just visit people who were in the news. It was a bit of a cross between something with current events and a bit TV Show-like.”
And what about Rooijakkers over de Vloer? No, that’s too slimy, she thinks. “He needs to do something more journalistic.”
Dead wrong
Marcus thinks it’s time for Art to take a new step. “He’s just in the wrong place at RTL, I think.”
Angela: “He’s really wrong, but okay. He just has to do journalism.”
And therefore no Talk Dutch With Me. “This is exactly what television is suffering from, this kind of laziness and the same faces again. I only told you what you get for it when you sit down, so you understand why the same faces are there. 1,500 euros. For an afternoon of recording. I think it’s really ridiculous.”
