French electronic band Justice have released two new tracks. With “Generator” and “One Night/All Night,” a feature with Tame Impala, they provide a taste of their new record HYPERDRAMA, which will be released on April 26th.
Everything about “One Night/All Night”
Kevin Parker of Tame Impala provides vocals on “One Night/All Night.” Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay say in a press release about the song: “We wanted this track to sound as if a dark/techno version of Justice had found a sample of a disco version by Kevin Parker.” They continue to celebrate Parkers A sense of melodies that feel simple and natural, “but at the same time also very strange”.
What else is important to know about the piece, according to Justice: “This song oscillates between pure electronic music and pure disco, but you never really get both at the same time.” Her idea of changing genres within a song should also run through the entire record . The battle for attention
The French describe the sound of the second release, “Generator”, as “Getaway” by the Salsoul Orchestra – “but with gabber and classic 90s techno sounds”. Disco funk and electronic music are the core elements of the duo’s music. These allow them to “coexist side by side, but not really in a peaceful way” in both the song “Generator” and the upcoming album. Justice said: “We like the idea of letting them fight for attention a little bit.”

HYPERDRAMA and concerts
The new album HYPERDRAMA will be the first record from Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay in over seven years. The French released their current LP, WOMAN, in 2016. They most recently released an original demo of their track “DANCE”, with which they celebrated the 15th anniversary of their debut album CROSS in 2022.
There will also be concerts by Justice in 2024. A few festival appearances have been announced so far (including the Coachella Festival and Primavera Sound), but dates for Germany are currently missing.
