Tuchel’s transfer plan: “Young, good-looking and successful”
Eric Dier should not be the end of FC Bayern’s transfer plans. The flexible defensive man came to Munich a week ago and signed a contract until the summer. Dier is seen as a solution for the center of defense and the defensive midfield, but Bayern are still looking for reinforcements on the right side of the defense.
Thomas Tuchel did not want to give a specific name at the press conference on Saturday. When asked whether they were looking for a top player or a back-up, Tuchel smiled. “We always look for the whole package: young, good-looking and successful,” he said. “The situation is tricky, the starting position is tricky. Other clubs have the same goals as us. The winter transfer window is a little more complicated than the summer transfer window.”

Before the start of the second half of the season: Neuer Bayern warns urgently about this
Captain Manuel Neuer issued an urgent warning to his teammates before the start of the second half of the season against Werder Bremen on Sunday. “Bremen is a team with two faces that can always be very dangerous,” said the goalkeeper in an interview published on the club’s website.
Nevertheless, “at home against Bremen it is a must to win in any case. We now have to continue where we left off against Hoffenheim,” continued Neuer. “It is now crucial not to leave anything behind because we are still second in the table.” Bayern are currently four points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the table.
“We still have a catch-up game against Union. We now continue with an English week,” said Neuer. “We now just have to try as best we can to take everything we can take with us. And of course the next three points are mandatory.”
Bayern in baby luck: Kimmich back, Dier questionable
Joshua Kimmich will be available again for FC Bayern on Sunday in the home game against Werder Bremen (3:30 p.m.). Because his partner was expecting their fourth child, the midfield star stayed in Munich and did not fly to the record champions’ short training camp in Portugal.
As head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed in a press conference in Quinta do Lago on Wednesday, the baby has already been born. Kimmich is now expected back in team training on Friday. Accordingly, nothing stands in the way of an operation on Sunday.
Because Eric Dier’s partner is also expecting their first child together, the winter newcomer left the training camp early. It is therefore still unclear whether the 30-year-old will be available against Bremen.
