Françoise Hardy turns 80: The best pictures of her career

The French chanson singer, songwriter and actress turns 80 today. To celebrate the day, we are celebrating Hardy and her long-standing career in the form of a picture gallery.

Françoise Hardy became famous for her song “Tous les garçons et les filles” in 1962, which sold two million copies in just a few days. At that time the singer was just 18 years old. Just a year later, she represented Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest – then called “Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson” – with her song “L’amour s’en va” and reached fifth place. This is followed by a series of hits that she sang in French, Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
