Tim Hofman seems seriously in the running to succeed Khalid Kasem as presenter at Khalid & Sophie, temporarily or otherwise. He reacts very strangely to questions about it. “You want a scope, don’t you?”
Khalid Kasem’s TV career has suddenly come to a standstill now that revelations from AD show that he is not a man of integrity. It might be nice to fill a broadcast evening at SBS 6 with Peter Gillis, but not to point a finger at talk show guests on behalf of BNNVARA. And Tim Hofman is very skilled at that…
Tim dodges
It is therefore not surprising that Renze Klamer was in his place last night talk show asks if Tim is in the running to succeed Khalid. “What do you think?”, the host first asks about the news about Khalid.
Tim clearly does not want to lose weight from his BNNVARA colleague. “Of what?”
Renze: “From this news.”
Tim: “Yes, what should I think about that?”
Nice scope
Then Tim continues: “I think it is good that it is being investigated. And a nice scoop from the AD. Furthermore, I don’t think it is very collegial – the body is not yet cold – to sit down and talk about it now. I don’t think that’s very chic. But if that has happened, you have to act on it. And the broadcaster did that too, right?”
Are we going to get Tim & Sophie now, instead of Khalid & Sophie? “You want a scope now, don’t you? I’m not going to sit here and discuss that. I still have a contract with BNNVARA for a number of years.”
‘You don’t say no’
Renze thinks it is a striking answer. “But you don’t immediately say ‘no’? I thought you said about Op1: ‘I don’t know if that was entirely for me.’”
Tim: “That Op1 wasn’t quite for me, but it’s been a few years, but I still have a few more years, so we’ll see where it ends.”
Renze: “Okay.”
Tim thinks Renze is after a headline, he laughs: “Well, you can make a headline if you want.”
