The light clothing of the presenters of Yle’s New Year’s broadcast in freezing weather made the viewers horrified.
The turn of the year was celebrated with a concert organized in Helsinki’s Kansalaistor. They also hosted the concert shown on Yle’s TV1 channel Gogi Mavromichalis and Emma Karasjoki.
On the night between Sunday and Monday, the temperature in Helsinki dropped to close to 20 degrees below zero. Still, Mavromichalis and Karasjoki were seen on the outdoor stage without overcoats. The presenters say that they have only been on stage in skimpy clothes for only a couple of minutes at a time. Winter coats and heat lamps were waiting on the side of the stage.
