Linda de Mol receives a very striking TV guest tonight in the New Year’s Eve special of Ik Hou Van Holland. After 18 years, Paul de Leeuw bows his heart and stands behind the desk.
It is quite striking that Paul de Leeuw participates in Ik Hou Van Holland, because that program more or less cost him his career as a successful presenter of major entertainment. In the past, the presenter was the big name on Saturday evenings; Week in week out, Mooi Weer De Leeuw was a huge ratings hit.
Paul decimated
The fun was over for Paul when the first episode of the Linda de Mol show Ik Hou Van Holland was shown in 2008. Linda fervently hoped that she would manage to beat Paul one day: “I will really go crazy if we have one more viewer than Paul de Leeuw.”
Just a year later, Linda was able to hang up the garlands and Paul was increasingly forgotten. Actually, Paul’s great success stopped when Ik Hou Van Holland started. Nowadays he still messes around a bit in the margins and now he is a celebrity who participates in a game show.
‘Dream comes true’
Paul reacts light-heartedly to his TV appearance in Ik Hou Van Holland. “The dream came true! With Richard GRoenendijk visiting Ik Hou Van Holland for the first time in 18 years. Crazy with that balluh!”, he now writes on Instagram.
Mrs. Senora, one of Paul’s followers, is really looking forward to it. “Already looking forward to. Especially with you and Richard together. A happy and healthy 2024, Paul, to you and your family.”
