An image of Drenthe suspects in the stabbing in Lemele emerged on social media this week. A witness was presented with photos this week and “in an unguarded moment this witness apparently managed to take a photo of this sheet of suspects,” police said.
Other people subsequently made the photo public, it is outlined. “These photos were never intended to be made public and everyone should be able to trust that such information is safe with police,” police said of the incident.
People who shared the image are being urged to remove it. “Using and distributing these photos in this way is a form of defamation, slander or insult. It has not yet been established that the suspects are also the perpetrators.”
Two men were seriously injured in the stabbing on the night from Saturday to Sunday. Shortly afterwards, three people were arrested, two Coevorden residents aged 16 and 19 and an 18-year-old Emmen resident. Only the latter is still stuck.
