VBB offers refugees from Ukraine free travel

Refugees from the Ukraine can travel on all buses and trains in the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) free of charge.

The VBB shareholders, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, the 14 Brandenburg districts and the four independent cities in Brandenburg, together with the 36 transport companies in the association, have agreed on this, as the VBB announced on Tuesday.

A Ukrainian passport or identity card is sufficient as a travel authorization. The regulation applies with immediate effect and is initially limited to March 31st.

According to the VBB, it is intended to enable people who have fled Ukraine to travel easily and free of charge on local public transport in Berlin and Brandenburg.
