Genesis are allowed to play shows in Berlin

The uncertainty is over: after the confirmations from Cologne and Hanover, Berlin now gives the okay for the two concerts of the “The Last Domino?” tour in the capital. The dates on March 7th and 8th can take place under Corona rules.

After the standstill, an “important signal to the entire industry”

Thus, all “The Last Domino?” concert dates of the rock band in Germany are secured. They will take place under “2G+” and with FFP2 masks mandatory. The Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin will be used at a maximum of 60 percent so that it can be “a safe place” for all fans of Phil Collins’ band, according to Ole Hertel, the arena’s general manager. He was “infinitely happy” to give fans the opportunity to see the band live again.

Organizer Dieter Semmelmann, who reports that he “fighted like a lion” for the fact that after more than two years an international top act could finally grace the Mercedes-Benz Arena, was also pleased. It is not only good news for Genesis fans, but also an “important sign to the entire industry” to take a step in the “right direction” again after the corona-related break.

The band also expresses their gratitude for the permits and looks forward to their German fans: “We would like to thank the fans for their loyalty and patience and look forward to performing in front of one of our favorite audiences in the world.”

The tour already started in September 2021 in Birmingham. It was originally planned for the end of 2020 and sold out in no time. Due to the pandemic, it had to be postponed several times.
