On December 16th, Billie Eilish appeared on the “Saturday Night Live” stage for the third time and performed two songs live. In addition to the “Barbie” track “What Was I Made For,” she also sang the Christmas classic “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” She was introduced that evening by Greta Gerwig, the film’s director, and Kate McKinnon, who plays “weird Barbie” in the 2023 film.
The 21-year-old was supported on stage by her brother Finneas, who accompanied her on the piano. Halfway through their performance, a string ensemble also joined in. Meanwhile, video excerpts from Eilish’s childhood as well as images of current and former SNL cast members were playing in the background, based on a scene in “Barbie”.
