THREE AND 1/2 STARS

There is a couple who seeks – and fails – to have children. He discovers that he has accidentally gotten one of his co-workers pregnant. All elements of melodrama They are here, but narrated not with the absolute lawlessness of the classics of the genre but with the intimacy of the portrait of bourgeois life (let’s clarify something before someone gets offended: nothing against “bourgeois life”, used as a description).

Remarkable how Rotter manages to sustain the midtone and allow us to describe, without appealing to saturation in the dialogue, the moods of the protagonists. The movie works very well and manages to even create the suspense to the extent that the basic situation is complex and puts the stability of all the protagonists at risk.

The actors, by the way, look like people we know. It is no small virtue, by the way.
