Mightily according to the news, viewing the contents of Areena’s mobile application will require logging in with a Yle ID in the future. The change took effect on Tuesday.
Yle’s strategy and customer relationship manager Marit af Björkesten says in Yle’s news that the login requirement aims to improve the service when users can be offered more relevant and meaningful content faster.
– You can also return to important content, get content recommendations that are more relevant, and that’s it [Areena] understand the user’s needs better, af Björkesten states in the Yle article.
Areena is Yle’s free streaming service, which opened in June 2007.
