Thousands of people are without power due to a fire in an electrical box on the Vaartdijk in Assendelft. The fire itself poses no danger to local residents.
According to Liander, about 2,000 people are now without power. A technician is currently on his way to resolve the fault. That is expected to last until about eight o’clock tonight.
The fire in the cupboard is not a danger to local residents or homes in the area. However, extinguishing a fire in an electrical box always takes a long time, because it cannot be extinguished with water.
