The footballers of 1. FC Köln will play another Bundesliga game in the RheinEnergieStadion – and want to break their attendance record.
The game on March 10, 2024 against Werder Bremen will take place in the large arena where the men’s team usually plays its home games. The stadium has 50,000 seats and the FC women’s record from the game against Eintracht Frankfurt last season was 38,365 spectators.
“Our attendance record from last season still stands and we firmly believe that with the support of the entire region, all football fans and those interested in sports, we can set the next milestone for German women’s football,” said Nicole Bender-Rummler, who works at FC heads the area of women’s and girls’ football.
The game against Bremen will take place under the motto “Kölsche girls play wherever they want”.
