Among last 24 teams
The Mainz 05 youth team is one of the 24 best teams in the UEFA Youth League. The “zero fives” won the second leg against Dinamo Minsk 2-1 (1-1) on Sunday. The first leg last Wednesday ended 1-1.
The celebrated winning goal by Daniel Gleiber, who had also scored in the first leg, only came in the 94th minute. In the first half, Noa Kljajic gave Mainz the lead after 33 minutes, and Maksim Budko equalized in the 43rd minute.
In the round of the last 24, the best eight teams from the “master path”, which is played in the knockout system and which also includes Mainz 05, meet the runners-up from the group phase, which was played parallel to the Champions League. The group winners qualify directly for the round of 16.
