Inter Milan has maintained its lead in the Italian Serie A, not least thanks to an outstanding Yann Sommer.
At the end of the 14th matchday, the Nerazzurri won impressively 3-0 (1-0) against champions SSC Naples and thus moved past Juventus Turin again.
Former Bundesliga professional Hakan Calhanoglu (44th), Nicolo Barella (62nd) and former Gladbach player Marcus Thuram (85th) scored for Inter, who are still two points ahead. But the guarantee of victory was goalkeeper Sommer, who repeatedly saved his team from conceding a goal.
Record champions Juve had already won at AC Monza on Friday (2-1) and thus temporarily took over the lead in the table. Inter’s city rivals Milan follow in third place, but are already six points behind.
Naples fell to fifth place, level on points with Roma (24), who won 2-1 (0-1) at US Sassuolo Calcio.
