The end came on New Year’s Eve 2018: at 2 p.m. the last program was broadcast by VIVA, the first German music television channel that celebrated its premiere on cable TV in 1993, 30 years ago. The announcement of the dismissal was announced in June 2018.
“VIVA Forever – The Show” was the name of the program in which presenters and companions said goodbye. Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, Mola Adebisi and Jan Köppen were there, and they were joined by Oliver Pocher, Sarah Kuttner and Loona.
The big names were missing
However, the two biggest stars, Stefan Raab and Heike Makatsch, were missing. Nilz Bokelberg was also not present at the farewell broadcast. The Fantastischen Vier, whose popularity also grew through VIVA in the early 1990s, responded via video message.
The focus of the “show” was music videos and bloopers from 25 years of moderation. At the end, Loona performed her song “Bailando”.
Mola Adebisi said goodbye: “VIVA lives on in my heart”. And the choir joined in: “See VIVA!”
