The day is not far off when there will be no new ones left in Russia cars cheaper than 600 thousand rubles… But so far there is such a machine, although it is only one. And this despite for another price increasewho spent AvtoVAZ, LADA Granta. The price of the car in the basic configuration Standard did not reach the red line for 1100 rubles. The equipment of the car is not rich, the drive is front-wheel drive. Such a machine is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine and a capacity of 90 horsepower.
Lada became the most popular brand in the Russian car market at the end of 2021. The most demanded cars steel Granta and Vesta… Hyundai is in second place. The Korean manufacturer sold well the Solaris sedan and Creta crossover. Creta with 121-horsepower aspirated and 6-speed “mechanics” costs from 1 million 450 thousand rubles. The younger brother of Hyundai – KIA – has the third place in Russia. The best sellers were the Rio sedan, the Sportage crossover and the Ceed family, according to SberAuto.
Lada Granta took only “silver” in the absolute standings of the models. Solaris, after all, became Model of the Year. The third position belongs to KIA Rio, and the top 5 also includes Ford Focus and Volkswagen Polo.
In addition, Lada Granta was among the leaders in terms of cost of ownership among B-class cars. Each kilometer covered by it costs 7 rubles 60 kopecks. Only Lada Xray has a better indicator – 10 kopecks lower. Slightly more expensive, 7 rubles 70 kopecks, is the cost of a kilometer for Lada Vesta, according to a study by Autostat. Xray won 10 kopecks over Granta due to lower costs for hull insurance and fuel – the Renault Sandero Stepway, redesigned for “Lada”, allows for a cheaper AI-92, against the “Grant” AI-95.
LADA Xray in the basic configuration now costs 826 thousand 900 rubles. The compact hatch is better than the Granta in a number of ways. Among them are a more powerful (106 “horses”) motor, LED running lights, and two airbags. But where Granta and Xray converge again – they are the least likely to be hijacked…
Renault Logan remained in the top of the cheapest cars. For an inexpensive Access package with an 82 horsepower engine in Russia, you will have to pay 776 thousand rubles. The starting equipment for LADA Largus Classic will cost 829 thousand 900 rubles. In terms of the engine and gearbox, you will get an analogue of Lada Granta, the differences are only in the base, body and interior.
Still in the top for cheap legendary “Niva”… Niva Legend with a 1.7-liter engine and 83 horsepower now costs 710 thousand 900 rubles. Among the pluses – the high cross-country ability of the car, among the minuses – the lack of comfort in the cabin. At the cost of ownership “Niva” will cost its owners 9 rubles 40 kopecks per kilometer. This is 10 kopecks cheaper than the KIA Seltos, but inferior to the leader of compact B-class crossovers. The cheapest in 2021 is the ownership of the Chinese Geely Coolray. Its content does not exceed 9 rubles 10 kopecks.
The Creta co-platform in the Comfort version already allows you to count on all 4 driving wheels. For such a KIA Seltos they are now asking 1 million 570 thousand rubles. Seltos has lower fuel and service costs compared to Hyundai Creta, but parts are traditionally more affordable for cars made in China. This explains the cost of ownership breakdown.
Among the SUV models in class C, the winners were the owners of Renault Duster, Renault Kaptur and Nissan Terrano: 8.9 rubles, 9.4 rubles and 9.8 rubles, respectively. Renault Duster is ahead of its co-platform Nissan Terrano here. “Japanese” is positioned as a car with a higher level of comfort, so maintenance and spare parts for Terrano are more expensive.
Renault Duster is one of the cheapest crossovers with 4×4 drive. For a complete set of Life with a motor of 114 “horses” you will have to pay 1 million 232 thousand rubles. The soplatform from Nissan already costs 1 million 306 thousand rubles with the same engine and six-speed manual transmission. This equipment is called the Terrano Comfort.
Among SUVs higher class It turned out to be the most profitable to own a UAZ Patriot – a kilometer for an SUV costs 10 rubles 50 kopecks. Chery Tiggo 8 Pro cost 11.5 rubles against 11.7 rubles for Skoda Kodiaq. And this is a sensation that can be easily explained. Although the fuel consumption of the “Czech” is much lower than that of the “Chinese”, it has a higher transport tax. With taxes, you still need to be somehow more careful, and it is wiser to establish them. In addition, the cost of the first two MOTs was higher for Skoda.
For comparison, the Skoda Octavia became the leader in terms of the cost of ownership in the “golf” class – 8.8 rubles per kilometer. Two KIA models lost significantly to it, these are Ceed with an indicator of 10.2 rubles per kilometer of track and Cerato – 10.5 rubles per kilometer of run.
So no one has been able to offer anything cheaper than Lada Granta on the Russian market. No need to frown, Lada!
