The cinema and film offerings on TV and in the streaming area are almost unmanageable. Anyone who loves large and small images has had an alternative for years with the streaming provider MUBI. There is a new range of films here every month, some of them exclusive MUBI releases, which can be seen before the DVD/Blu-ray launch. Included are film classics, rarely shown genre gems, independent works of art, short films and numerous festival highlights.

For some time now, MUBI has also included the “MUBI GO” app, which provides viewers in Berlin with a special service. Every week you can see a selected film in one of the capital’s cinemas, for which you get a free ticket with the app. This means: four cinemas a month at no additional cost. The films are carefully selected by MUBI.

This is how “MUBI GO” works in Berlin

  • For a limited period of time, MUBI members receive a cinema ticket for a selected film to discover on the big screen every week in addition to the offer on the streaming platform for the regular monthly subscription price of 11.99 euros. Members can redeem their weekly ticket for any screening available at partner venues that day.
  • To do this, subscribers download the “MUBI GO” app and select a cinema and a season. The app then generates a QR code for which members receive a ticket at the box office depending on availability in the hall (except for special performances).
  • Tickets can only be redeemed on the day of the performance for each season at the participating venues (reservations or online bookings are not possible).

What is MUBI and how much does it cost?

MUBI sees itself not only as a streaming provider, but also as a community of film lovers. There are more than 15 million members worldwide and in 190 countries. The subscription costs 11.99 euros per month or 95.88 euros for 12 months. MUBI is available on the web and on Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Samsung Smart TV, as well as on mobile devices including iPad, iPhone and Android.
