“We at Hekside think it is vital that Wim Jonk stays,” De Boer clearly says about the current technical manager of FC Volendam. The big question is whether Jonk can stay now that Smit has been thrown out. “I hope they come out, because there is a very important match tomorrow.” FC Volendam takes on PEC Zwolle as number 17 in front of its own audience.

Smit announced yesterday via his social channels that he accepts the resignation. “The board was already given notice of resignation on Sunday. We have no choice but to accept it.”
