Feyenoord and Atletico Madrid faced each other in the 5th week match of UEFA Champions League Group E.
The guest team, Atletico Madrid, took the lead 1-0 with an own goal scored by Lutsharel Geertruida in the 14th minute.
Closing the first half with a 1-0 lead, Atletico Madrid increased the difference to 2 with Mario Hermoso in the 57th minute.
Host Feyenoord reduced the difference to one with Mats Wieffer in the 77th minute. 4 minutes later, Santiago Tomas Gimenez from the Dutch team sent the ball into his own net and Atletico Madrid made the score 3-1.
Atletico Madrid won the match 3-1 and secured its place in the group with 11 points. Feyenoord, in the 3rd place with 6 points, said goodbye to the Champions League. The Rotterdam team will continue on its way in the UEFA Europa League.
Atletico Madrid will play the leadership match against Lazio on December 13. On the same day, Feyenoord will host Celtic.
