Sinterklaas is not lucky with the weather this weekend, during his arrival in the Netherlands. It’s going to rain all day in our province. “They should actually have held the arrival on Friday,” said Wouter van Bernebeek from Weerplaza on Saturday morning in the radio program ‘Weekend’ on Omroep Brabant. “Then we had a beautiful day.”
“This Saturday, ten to twenty millimeters of precipitation will fall in many places,” Wouter said on the radio. “There will be a strong wind during the day. It is also quite cold outside at first, six degrees.”
Tonight will be warmer as warmer air is heading our way. “Behind that rain area, much softer air flows, which comes over our province. As a result, it will warm up to thirteen degrees next night.” So twice as warm compared to the afternoon.
According to Van Bernebeek, it is more common in the autumn that it becomes warmer in the evening and at night than during the day. “This is called a warm front. A front with precipitation, behind which warmer air flows over the land.”
“Sunday morning is clearly the best period of this weekend.”
That warmth will remain present on Sunday. Then it is about thirteen degrees during the day. “In the morning it is mainly dry, with some sun now and then. In the afternoon we will have to deal with rain again. Sunday morning is clearly the best period of this weekend.”
We can look forward to nicer weather next week. “The sun will come out more often. On Monday we will still have a few showers, but Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly dry. The nights will be a lot colder, especially when it clears up.”
According to Van Bernebeek, we could easily get a few degrees of frost from Wednesday. “That’s only one or two nights, you know. But it’s almost the end of November, so it’s okay once in a while.”
