Julian Nagelsmann has nominated Hoffenheim driver Grischa Prömel for the DFB selection. The national coach uses this to check the next newcomer’s suitability for the European Championship.
Julian Nagelsmann had to reschedule his personnel again before the national soccer team’s first training session. On Monday (11/13/23) the national coach nominated Grischa Prömel from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to replace Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund) for the international matches against Turkey on Saturday in Berlin and three days later in Vienna against Austria. Nmecha had to miss the game at short notice due to “slight problems in the hip area,” as the DFB announced.
A broken ankle slowed Prömel down
Prömel (28) is the fifth professional in the current squad who has never been in the A team played.
However, Prömel has a successful DFB resume. In 2016, the former junior national player was one of the silver medal winners at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He was already in the sights of the national team. However, a broken ankle almost exactly a year ago stopped him for a long time.
