Diandra lives her own kind of artistic career, even though it might be unusual for some.

Diandra does more than 100 gigs every year, but this year, according to her own words, she has done a record number more. However, Diandra hasn’t experienced the feeling of burning out so far. He also makes sure that doesn’t happen.
– I make sure that I have another life: I try to be in touch with my friends and see my godchildren. In addition, I always take a nap when possible, he happily tells Iltalehte.

At the moment, Diandra’s career has taken an unexpected turn. He returned to his own music Night In Paris with the song that was released on Friday, October 20. Despite the comeback song, the singer quickly makes it clear that the album is not coming for a while.
– Hopefully at some point, but I feel that the time is not yet. Nowadays, it’s a trend for more singles to come out before the album itself, he says cryptically.
If you don’t count the 2015 Christmas album, Diandra was last heard of a record’s worth of songs in 2014, when Dynamite was published. Since then, the singer has been in the recording studio mostly fiddling with different artists’ songs.
Diandra says that she deliberately took a long break from releasing her own music, because she feels that she is more of a gigging artist than a recording artist.
– Gigging and making TV is my favorite thing in this profession. I also do a lot of fiddling, which I think is stress-free – then the song is not your own, but shared with someone else, he opens.
A misunderstood success?
Diandra’s long recording break may have made it seem to some that she hasn’t done anything in years. That’s not true. However, Diandra realizes that her artistry is perhaps not the most normal in society’s eyes.
– It could be that some people are wondering about my long publication break. But I’m living my career, so it’s not strange for me, he states.

The singer thinks that his way of being an artist is just right for him. The musician is successful, at least in his own eyes, but he doesn’t make a number out of it.
– Success means different things to everyone. I personally feel success in the way that I get to do a lot of gigs and be in one of Finland’s biggest TV shows for the fourth season. That’s my dream. I am happy this way and I have a nice phase in my career, says Diandra.
– It doesn’t make the dream any worse if someone wants to perform in stadiums, while another wants to act or make a career as an early childhood educator, he emphasizes.
The unusual career has also had a positive effect on his finances.
– Nowadays, an artist gets his money from gigs. Spotify isn’t a mega-buck, but you get a little more from radio plays. Certainly, artists who actively publish music make good money from it. However, I make a living from gigs, the singer reflects.
Discipline preserved
When Diandra herself looks at her own growth story, she feels that she has changed immeasurably both as a person and as an artist. He is especially grateful that he moved from classical violin playing to pop music.
– It was fun to come to the pop side, where it seemed to be freer and crazier than in the disciplined “classic world”, says the artist.
– Especially in the last few years, it has felt like I’m more liberated – but that can also be a thing brought about by age and experience. It brings confidence and relaxation, he continues.

However, Diandra admits that the discipline taught by the classical side will probably stay with her always. According to the artist, he still has a lot to learn in terms of taking some things more casually.
– I don’t know how to have fun in music training, for example. When I’m in training, then we train and do the work. At some point I notice that some people make jokes during training, while I myself am in my own worlds. It comes from that class world, he opens.
Has this led to misunderstandings that misrepresent Diandra?
– Maybe sometimes. Some may get the impression that I’m really shy – as I am sometimes, Diandra reflects.
However, Diandra’s eyes are not on the development areas of the present or the career choices of the past. Diandra has no regrets about her career choices, but admits that some decisions could have been made differently.
– Maybe I could have said no to some things, but they haven’t turned my world upside down. I can’t say how useful it would have been if I had made a different decision in some situation. At the moment, I’m fine, so maybe it’s been worthwhile to learn things the hard way, the singer reflects.
However, Diandra’s eyes are firmly on the future. Finally, the artist reveals that he would like to continue working on music programs – be it the Elämäni biisi program or something else.
Diandra also doesn’t rule out the possibility that she could be seen as the host of a music show. He has hosted a couple of times, for example Wishful tonesprogram during the corona pandemic.
– Why not! It would be fun to try it sometime. Speaking on stage is quite easy for me, when sometimes it wouldn’t be otherwise, he says enthusiastically.
