mid-term conclusion
After 45 minutes it was 0-0 between Dynamo Dresden and SV Darmstadt 98, but they were still entertaining. The guests set the tone, especially in the first half hour, even if Dresden had the biggest chance of the game with a batter crack through Weihrauch. After that, however, the home side got better and better, creating more and more actions from the game, while the lilies lost the thread offensively. There could have been goals for both sides, but the draw at the break is the fair score.

21:19
It’s getting hot again in the Darmstadt penalty area! Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer prevailed strongly against Fabian Holland, put his body in front of the ball and crossed the five to Yannick Stark – Patric Pfeiffer used his body resolutely, but only hit the ball and defended fairly. The Dresden protests are loud, but there is no whistle.

Official stoppage time (minutes): 1
44
21:17
Sollbauer keeps his head down and has to get off the lawn first, but it can go on.
43
21:16
Luca Pfeiffer runs into Michael Sollbauer and he falls unhappily, immediately holding his head. The apology comes immediately from Darmstadt.
41
21:15
In the meantime, Darmstadt has lost a lot offensively and lost the line a little. Dresden, on the other hand, seems a little more solid in attacking play.
39
21:12
Bader hits Kade a good 20 meters centrally in front of the goal on the foot – free kick for Dynamo. Batista-Meier steps up and the net is wriggling. But only because the ball touches it from behind. The Schlenzer, which is well worth seeing, sails over to the left by a wafer-thin.
38
21:10
Strong action by Patric Pfeiffer, who boiled Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer on the left flank and simply tipped the ball off his foot in a running duel.
37
21:09
The duel between Skarke and Giorbelidze on the right side of attack and left side of defense is very entertaining. So far, however, the Georgian in Dress Dynamos has usually been ahead by a nose.
35
21:08
Dresden almost fritters away the corner kick with the short pass, Darmstadt pushes out, but cannot conquer the ball. Königsdörffer then finds Stark in the center from the right edge of the penalty area. His volley clearly rushes past the right.
33
21:05
The guests are closer to the lead overall, even if crystal-clear chances to score in the last few minutes were also scarce for the lilies. Offensively, however, far too little comes from Dresden.
31
21:04
There would have been a brilliant idea, but it fails when it comes to implementation. Königsdörffer can never reach this steep pass to the top. Shoes then calms the game and picks up the ball.
30
21:03
The following corner brings nothing to the guests. Nobody can use a little bustle in the Dresden sixteen.
29
21:02
Luca Pfeiffer sends a nice flick from a good 22 meters in the direction of the Dresden box – the deflected shot lands narrowly on the gate roof.
26
20:58
Yellow card for Klaus Gjasula (SV Darmstadt 98)
Gjasula keeps his foot on Kade in midfield and sees him yellow – a tough but justifiable decision.
26
20:58
Schuhen thanks Daferner very politely for this return. He didn’t hit the long-range shot at all.
25
20:58
Schnellhardt’s standard brings nothing, Dresden has defended the high balls properly so far.
24
20:57
Skarke comes into the box with a lot of speed and just as much space on the right, but Giorbelidze runs the pass into the center perfectly and clears the corner.
23
20:56
It remains rough on the lawn, but by no means unfair. Referee Lechner has the game well under control so far. He takes Isherwood to his chest again and explains to him that this was the last such action without receiving a yellow card.
21
20:54
If he gets through! Batista-Meider pokes through from the center but Daferner comes too late as Holland intercepts the pass in time.
18
20:52
It’s like the Wild West! The penalty areas are attacked here and there. After the Skarke action, Dresden now comes with speed on the right, Darmstadt can’t prevent a shot from the second row, but that’s easy for shoes.
17
20:51
On the other side, Skarke nailed a half-volley from 17 meters to the right in front of the goal, but Mitryushkin safely parried to the side.
16
20:50
Happy Lilies! Weihrauch takes a free kick from 18 meters from the left corner of the penalty area directly on goal – Schuhen almost reaches past, but deflects the powerful shot with his fingertips to the crossbar.
14
20:46
Yellow card for Guram Giorbelidze (Dynamo Dresden)
Giorbelidze knocks Bader down on the sidelines – at first the advantage runs, but the referee rightly gives yellow for the hard entry afterwards.
13
20:46
Pfeiffer asserts himself strongly in the sixteen and lays down with a hoe, but Skarke cannot reach it.
12
20:45
Darmstadt is coming more and more into play and is becoming significantly more dangerous. Schnellhardt brings a flat and sharp free kick from half right, Skarke is blocked on the five.
10
20:44
Darmstadt must actually make more of it! The lilies move into the box on the right with speed. Skarke takes the cross from Tietz at the penalty spot with a side kick, but doesn’t hit the ball properly. Skarke lurks at the fiver, keeps his head in, but heads Mitryushkin right into his arms.

20:40
Dresden starts aggressively and that gives applause from the stands. The hosts get the ball, but then it only goes around the back.
6
20:39
The lilies don’t give up the ball at all and even get the first shot – Schnellhardt is allowed to pull twice from the back because the first attempt is blocked. The second rushes by on the right.
3
20:37
Darmstadt first gets a little possession of the ball and decelerates the game early so that Dresden cannot fully exploit the initial momentum.
1
20:34
After hand-timed 44 seconds, Kade has the first finish! Darmstadt wants to solve it playfully via the keeper, but Schuhen is immediately attacked and plays the ball into Kade’s feet – from 20 meters he only misses the box by centimeters to the left.
1
20:33
The game is running. Darmstadt toasts.
20:25
The Dresdeners prefer not to take a look at the numbers in advance, because Dynamo could only win one of their last eight competitive games against Darmstadt (2 draws, 5 defeats).
20:22
The game’s referee is Florian Lechner. In a few minutes the big game can start.
19:58
On the other hand, Darmstadts Lieberknecht even changed five positions. Kempe is out due to a yellow card suspension, while Ronstadt, Riedel, Honsak and Seydel are all on the bench. Bader, Schnellhardt, Karic, Pfeiffer and Tietz start for the quintet.
19:53
Let’s look at the staff, starting with the hosts. Dresden’s coach Schmidt makes three changes: Giorbelidze, Batista-Meier and Weihrauch start for Schröter, Drchal (both on the bench) and the injured Löwe.
19:52
With Darmstadt, the third-strongest away team comes to Dresden today, which even scored one more point abroad than at home (in one game more). However, the lilies have only done moderately lately. Only eight points have come from the last five competitive games, most recently they didn’t win three times in a row – including the 0:5 pack against HSV. But the division of points against Hannover and Rostock in the past two weeks also hurt. St. Pauli is currently leading the table with a two-point lead, while Bremen is in third place, one point ahead of Hamburg. But even Heidenheim in seventh place is only three points behind, actually the lilies can no longer afford to lose any more points and have to get back on the road to victory.
19:43
However, Dresden is currently going through a small dry spell of six competitive games without a win. In 2022 it only won a test match against Erzgebirge Aue during the winter break. In four cases you still got a point, but that’s not enough to survive in the table cellar. Especially since the bitter 1:4 defeat against Hansa Rostock a few weeks ago was particularly painful. The Saxons only finally discovered the draw for themselves, in the entire first half of the season they only played a draw once, otherwise it was always “hop or top”. After all, there is a home game today, because Dresden scored two thirds of all points with 17 points in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
19:38
This evening, two currently struggling teams meet, albeit with different worries. The lilies have lost ground in recent weeks and continue to face five direct competitors in the battle for promotion. At the other end of the table, Aue and Ingolstadt seem to be two direct relegated teams, but the relegation place is still in the raffle. Four teams are only one point apart, so Dynamo are currently just above the red zone – two of their direct competitors are not playing until tomorrow, so you could build up a little pressure today.
Hello and welcome to the top game of the 2nd division on matchday 24. At 8.30 p.m. Dynamo Dresden welcomes SV Darmstadt 98 at their home Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
