Lesauto overtakes police car at 154 km/h: fine of 574 euros

A driving instructor wanted to teach his 17-year-old student a lesson about speeding. By driving 154 kilometers per hour where they were allowed 130, on the A2 highway from Boxtel to Den Bosch, the boy had to learn that it hardly saves any time. However, they overlooked a police car. The instructor received two fines totaling 574 euros for driving too fast and unnecessarily on the left.

“The car swerved and drove unnecessarily on the left for a long time,” the police said.

Officers removed the pair from the highway near Den Bosch. There they heard from the instructor that the intention was to teach his student that driving fast does not necessarily mean you get home faster. Only the police didn’t fall for it. The instructor received two fines: one of 334 euros for speed and one of 240 euros for unnecessary left-hand driving.

The student has probably learned his lesson.
