In her autobiography “The Woman In Me,” Britney Spears reveals some details about her life as a pop star and the time behind the scenes. From her relationship with Justin Timberlake to her 13-year guardianship. But apparently the singer has more details in store. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Spears announced that the second part of her memoir will be published in 2024.
“Humor is the cure for everything!!! The game continues!!! Volume 2 will be released next year… get ready!!!,” the musician announced in her social media post on October 28th. According to the singer, the autobiography, which was published on October 24th, is already “the best-selling celebrity memoir in history”.
The accompanying audio book, narrated by actress Michelle Williams, is currently at the top of the Amazon bestseller list. The hardback edition follows in second place. Whether Spears announced a second part prematurely and without consultation in view of its success or whether the sequel was actually planned for 2024 remains unclear at the moment and has not been officially confirmed.
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake
Either way, the current biography has already provided some inside information into Spears’ life. Among the revelations is her unwanted pregnancy with her then-boyfriend and *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake, which she ended with an abortion. At the time she was 17 and he was 18 and both were at the beginning of promising careers. Regarding Timberlake’s boy band, the singer also says that they tried to adapt more to the style of black musicians. “They were white boys, but they loved hip-hop,” Spears writes in her biography. “*NSYNC hung out with Black musicians. Sometimes I thought they were trying too hard to fit in.”
However, with her disclosures, the pop star seems to have stepped on the toes of some of the people mentioned. “The goal of my book was not to offend anyone, absolutely not!!!,” Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (October 27). “That was me back then…that’s in the past!!! I don’t like some of the headlines I read…that’s exactly why I got out of the music business four years ago!!! “Most of the book is from 20 years ago… I’ve evolved and it’s a nice new beginning from here!!!,” the singer continued.
