Wilfred Genee is high on the wish list of the makers of Wie is de Mol. They called him to participate, but for now he refuses to participate. “Ridiculous program!”
The star status of most participants in Wie is de Mol is not exactly gigantic. This year Froukje de Both was the best known, the year before Kim-Lian van der Meij. Not really Chantal Janzen or Jort Kelder level, so to speak. Yet the makers continue to make frantic attempts to attract a major A-star.
Ridiculous program
Wilfred Genee has also been asked, he says in the column In The Walkways. “I’ve been asked to do it several times, but it’s not my thing at all. Then you get a call (starts whispering, ed.): ‘Hello. You’re not allowed to talk about this, but ehh…’ I said: ‘But I don’t like the program at all. I really don’t like the program.’”
The presenter of Today Inside shouldn’t even think about participating in that show. “I really think it’s a ridiculous program. Grown people playing a game on TV.”
‘My children want!’
Sam Hagens, the political reporter from VI, points out the success of Wie is de Mol to Wilfred. “A lot of people are watching it!”
Wilfred: “Yes, very nice. My children like it too and say: ‘Now join in!’”
Sam: “Your kids like it? Then do something for your children on TV.”
Wilfred: “Yes, but I can’t say that I’m participating, because then I would have betrayed myself, so that is hopeless.”
Sam in Who is the Mole?
Is Sam actually participating in Wie is de Mol? The rumors are abound. “I hear that gossip going around more and more. I get asked about it a lot, because I was free for so long, but I’m really not into it. No not at all. It seems fun, but I’m really not into it. Look, I can prove it too, you know that.”
He continues: “Shall I show you photos of the period when Wie is de Mol was recorded and I was free? That gossip is all about the end of June and I was off from mid-June to the end of July. I was free for a really long time. Really five weeks. I just have all kinds of photos that I can show you. This was me on holiday in Spain. This is June 26. Then I was in Spain.”
Good Mole
Sam keeps scrolling through his photos. “This was all my vacation. Yes, that is July 5, also in Spain. Look, that’s me with my children.”
By the way, Sam thinks that Wilfred would do very well in Wie is de Mol. “That seems like a lot of fun to me. You would also make a very good Mole, I think. I think people immediately find you very suspicious.”
