World champions Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen were the rally’s most celebrated heroes.

Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen secured the World Rally Championship for the 2023 season on Sunday.
On the spot, a huge group of Finns had arrived in Germany to cheer in honor of the champion couple.
Rovanperä’s parents were also there. Harry and Tiina Rovanperä were the first to congratulate their son Toyota after he finished the last EK.
– Tough guy! God! Good! Harri Rovanperä said hugging his son.
After a happy family moment, Rovanperä and Halttus were taken to the victory ceremonies. On the podium, the world champions were handed the prizes by a rally legend Walter Röhrl as well as his map reader Christian Geistdörfer.
Rovanperä secured the second world championship of his career one race before the end of the season. The 2023 World Rally Championship season ends in November in Japan, Toyota’s home country.
