As part of the update in Ligue 2, Transfermarkt.fr has adjusted the market values of 161 professionals. Only two players recorded an increase of more than one million euros. This is the case with central defender Abdoulaye Ndiaye (21) and center forward Alexandre Mendy (29). The former moved from Olympique Lyon to ESTAC Troyes in the summer for 3.5 million euros, becoming the ninth most expensive signing in the history of Ligue 2. Since his arrival, the Senegalese has established himself in the starting eleven, resulting in an increase of 1.5 million . leads to 3 million euros.
SM Caen’s Mendy, who was the league’s second-best goalscorer last season, leads the rankings this season with eight goals in eleven games. As a result, despite his age of 29, his market value climbs by one million euros to 3.5 million euros, which is only equaled in the league by Thierno Baldé (21; ESTAC Troyes) and Benjamin Bouchouari (21; AS Saint-Étienne) with 4 million euros each surpass.
The red pencil is most clearly applied to Colin Dagba (25). The right-back is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to AJ Auxerre, but is currently only the second choice in his position behind Paul Joly (23). Therefore, the former French U21 international will go from 4.5 million euros down to 2.5 million euros.
Three other players also lose noticeably, namely by one million euros: the attackers Ibrahima Niane (24; to 2 million euros) and Adrien Hunou (29; to 1.5 million euros) from Angers SCO and Etienne Green (23) from AS Saint-Étienne. The goalkeeper has not played a game in 2023/24 other than in the reserve team. After the update, he is now worth a million euros – a figure that is a far cry from the 10 million euros he was worth in December 2021. This was followed by six devaluations in a row.

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent.
