Bayern asphalt Darmstadt 8-0, Kane scores a hat-trick. And Neuer returns

Incredible match: zero goals and three red cards in the first half, then the Bavarians scored in the second half with 10 against 9: Sané and Musiala also scored (both scored twice) and Muller

A goleada. Yet the match had started on an uphill climb. In the ninth round of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich won 8-0 at home against Darmstadt (who finished with 9 men due to two expulsions, again in the first half). Yet in the 4th minute the Bavarians were down to 10 men due to Kimmich’s expulsion. Decisive goals from Kane in the 51st, 69th and 88th minutes, Sané in the 56th and 64th minutes, Musiala in the 60th and 76th minutes and Muller in the 71st minute. Neuer’s return is also significant, one year after fracturing his tibia and fibula. Awaiting the Leverkusen match on Sunday, Tuchel’s team is first in the table.

THE RACE

Tuchel lines up his team with 4-2-3-1, with Kane as the sole striker and Coman, Musiala and Sané behind him. In the 4th minute, however, Bayern remained with 10 men: Kimmich lost the ball in front of the penalty area and then stopped Mehlem heading towards goal. The Darmstadt player falls in the area, but the foul starts outside. For the referee it’s a direct red. However, even with a numerical inferiority, Bayern attacks: Schuhen saves first from Davies, then from Kane. The Bavarians also won a penalty in the 19th minute (foul by Gjasula on Laimer), which was then taken away by the VAR because the foul occurred at the limit: at that point Gjasula’s card turned red. In the 41st minute another episode: this time it is Maglica who brings down Kane who is thrown towards the net, getting the red card. For the rest of the match it will therefore be played 10 against 9.

THE RECOVERY

In the second half, Bayern spreads: Schuhen is still good on De Ligt (who also had an opportunity in the first half), before surrendering to Kane: the Englishman breaks the deadlock in the 52nd minute with an assist from Mazraoui. From then on it was child’s play for Tuchel’s team, who scored in bursts: Sané scored from close range in the 56th minute, Musiala with a shot into the corner in the 60th minute, Sané with a shot in the 64th minute, Kane, from 50 metres, in the 69th minute, then Muller, Musiala and Kane again, with his second hat-trick of this championship. A walk in the park, with 8 goals scored in just one half. Yet the match had started on an uphill climb.

THE OTHERS

Union Berlin loses again, their tenth defeat in a row. With Gosens and Bonucci starting, the Berliners were beaten 2-0 by Werder Bremen. Three points also for Augsburg, which won 3-2 against Wolfsburg. Important victory for Gladbach (2-1 against Heidenheim), while Stuttgart, who were second in the table at the start of the day, were beaten 3-2 by Hoffenheim and slipped to third place. But he would become fourth if Dortmund win in Frankfurt on Sunday.
