The Bundesliga footballers from Bayer Leverkusen have stayed in touch with the top group. Nuremberg won for the first time this season.
Leverkusen won 1-0 (1-0) at the start of the 5th matchday on Friday evening (October 21st, 2023) and climbed to third place, at least temporarily. Janou Levels scored the only goal of the game (36th minute) with a deflected shot.
Cologne is still waiting for its third win of the season. FC almost got a point, but Martyna Wiankowska hit the crossbar with a shot from the edge of the penalty area (61′).
Premiere victory for Nuremberg
On Saturday (October 21, 2023), 1. FC Nürnberg won 2-0 (1-0) at SC Freiburg. The goals for the Nuremberg women were scored by Nadja Burkard (6th) and Vanessa Haim (90th + 4th).
It was Nuremberg’s first win of this Bundesliga season, meaning the club left last place in the table. Freiburg has also only won once, but also twice draw played. Scores five points, eighth place.
Essen and Bremen share the points
In the second game on Saturday, SGS Essen and Werder Bremen drew 1-1 (0-0). Essen’s lead by Lina Hausicke (55′) was equalized late by Ramona Maier (90′).
The draw means the SGS remains sixth in the table for the time being, just behind Bremen.
