VfB Stuttgart continues to win
VfB Stuttgart continues to win, but may temporarily lose its best goalscorer. On matchday 8 of the Bundesliga, Serhou Guirassy took the snap for the 14th time before he had to go out injured. First away win for Eintracht Frankfurt – RB Leipzig remains in the top group
RB Leipzig remains in the top group after a 3-1 (2-1) win at SV Darmstadt 98, while Eintracht Frankfurt won 3-1 (3-1) at TSG Hoffenheim in the pursuit game. VfL Bochum remains in danger of relegation after the 1:2 (1:2) draw at SC Freiburg.
Leipzig’s Loïs Openda took the lead in Darmstadt after just 44 seconds, scoring the earliest goal of the season so far. Emil Forsberg (24th) followed up with a free kick. Then Leipzig’s Kevin Kampl caused a penalty, the fouled Tobias Kempe (32nd) didn’t miss the chance. Openda (72nd) restored the two-goal gap.
In Sinsheim, Maximilian Beier (3rd) scored early to give the hosts the lead. But Omar Marmoush (11th) managed to equalize early before Ansgar Knauff (23rd) turned the game around to give the “Adlers” their first away win. Ellyes Skhiri (45th + 3) ensured Eintracht’s lead was even more reassuring at the break.
VfL took the lead in Freiburg through Gonçalo Paciência (15th). Ritsu Doan (26th) equalized in the first half. Because Bernardo touched the ball with his arm during a defensive action in the penalty area, referee Tobias Reichel awarded a penalty against Bochum. Vincenzo Grifo (45th + 2) converted.
