The lights go out for Flamme Fatale: watch her unmasking and all the performances of the evening here | THE MASKED SINGER 2022

Stan Van Samang joined the detectives tonight. Last season, he was still one of the main suspects for Duiker, but that turned out to be Gio Kemper. “Every day you are involved with music, with people, with voices”, Niels Destadsbader observes. So expectations are high. “I can already feel the pressure,” laughs Stan. “But all I hear is: ‘It’s really difficult’, ‘I have no idea’, ‘Last year I was sure, but now…’. So I think that will be dramatic.”

The Masked Singers kicked off the evening with a festive version of ‘I Got A Feeling’ by The Black Eyed Peas. During the battles, Miss Poes especially surprised with her high whistles, which were reminiscent of world star Mariah Carey. “Is this from us? Do we have this in Flanders?” Niels wondered aloud. “Is this an international star?” We don’t yet know who is behind those whiskers, but the catty singer is once again strengthening her position as the top favorite for the final win.

But of course it wasn’t all partying, because tonight one of the Masked Singers would also have to say goodbye to the program. Flamme Fatale, Rabbit and Ice King ended up in the risk area after their battles. “We are dealing with a unique situation, we cannot figure out who should save me,” said Ruth Beeckmans. “So we would like to pass that responsibility on to the public.” No sooner said than done: Rabbit was the first to be rescued by the public. That meant that Flamme Fatale and IJskoning had to give the best of themselves one last time in a face off round. Ice King narrowly escaped elimination.

This time it was Flamme Fatale’s turn to take off her mask. At the beginning of the evening she still impressed presenter Niels Destadsbader. The fiery Flamme fell to one knee and begged him to marry them with a gold ring. “Uh, yes, but surely?”, Niels sounded. “I swear, if this turns out to be Koen Crucke…” But Koen was obviously not under the mask. It was none other than Tine Embrechts! Also an unreachable lady, however, because she is married to Guga Baul. He is also one of the prime suspects for Ice King.
